Appearing on the May 14 episode of YouTube variety show Halmyungsoo, hosted by Park Myung-soo, G-Dragon reunited with the comedian for the first time in 15 years since their memorable collaboration on Infinite Challenge. The two took a trip down memory lane, even testing their friendship with a playful lie detector segment.
In a humorous twist, when Park was asked to choose between IU and G-Dragon, he selected G-Dragon—but the machine detected a lie. G-Dragon cracked up and admitted, “Honestly, I like IU more too,” to which Park explained, “IU has been sending me gifts for ten years now.”

The conversation naturally turned to IU, and Park asked G-Dragon if she had given him any thank-you gifts for guest-starring at one of her concerts. G-Dragon then shared a memorable anecdote: “Well… Jieun (IU’s real name) always takes good care of people. One time a fridge just showed up, and I was like, “What’s this?” I opened it and… wow. The booze she endorses… It was packed. That was right before I enlisted, and I was totally smashed…” he joked, sending Park and the crew into laughter.
Park followed up by asking if G-Dragon still drinks. G-Dragon replied, “I still like it… I don’t really have many chances to drink that much soju though…”
The episode also featured touching reflections on the legacy of Infinite Challenge, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year—just like G-Dragon’s group, BIGBANG. Park commented, “Honestly, you guys walked alongside Infinite Challenge. We helped each other.” G-Dragon nodded, “We think so too. Our debut year was close, and when you hit your 10th year, so did we.”

When asked to choose a favorite BIGBANG song, G-Dragon said, “Every song is like a diary entry, but if I had to pick, I’d say ‘Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.’ It’s the latest one, and we’re hitting our 20th anniversary next year. We never thought we’d hit 20 so it feels really meaningful. I just hope we can find a way for all of us to be together.”
The episode offered both nostalgia and laughs, showing fans a softer, funnier side of the iconic idol—and a peek into the warm, supportive bond he shares with IU.
